Newquay is the surfing capital of the UK with world class surfing beaches just a short walk from the hostel and a number of other fantastic surfing beaches a short drive away. If you would like to learn to surf most of them have surf schools on the beach and wet suit/board hire is also available.

However, if surfing is not your thing then the hostel is great central location to explore Cornwall from. There are coastal walks, horse riding, fishing, golf, zoo, diving, the Eden Project, and other famous gardens all within the area. In about an hours drive you could be visiting Tintagel, Lands End, the Lizard, St Ives and St Michaels Mount. Then in the evening join the thriving party scene of Newquay with it’s vibrant eateries, clubs, music venues and cinema showing the latest releases.

Newquay has something for everyone with a taste for life and the Backpackers is a great place to make your base.
